NAME: Shouto Todoroki

CANON: My Hero Academia
NAME: Shouto Todoroki
AGE: 16
CANON: My Hero Academia
CANON HISTORY: Found here
CANON PERSONALITY:
The first time we meet Shouto Todoroki he is cold, aloof and detached. His focus is laser-guided and singular. He does not go out of his way to speak to or make friends with the other students in his class. When others in the class are talking, he's rarely seen around them. He does express some concern that he may have injured a classmate with his quirk while he was threatening a villain. However, he doesn't approach her to ask if she's okay.
There is only one thing that Shouto cares about and that is spiting his father in every way possible. Shouto has a half and half Quirk (read: superpower), that lets him create and control ice on his right side, and fire on his left. The fire half of his quirk is the part his shares with his father, and he swore to himself that he would become a top hero without using it. The primary motivator behind this was not giving his father the satisfaction of Shouto using that part of him. The other was his fear of becoming his father.
He carries this belief until the Sports Festival. This was when he admitted his backstory to Izuku Midoriya. They fought during the bracket part of the festival, and Izuku finally broke through to him that his Quirk was entirely his own. He remembered the real reason why he wanted to be a hero and started to go back to that path of wholeheartedly applying both himself and his Quirk instead of just giving fifty percent. While he did start to use his fire-side, he still needed more time to really process this. Years of damage can't be undone in a single fight, after all.
This marked the point where Shouto became more friendly towards his classmates. He wasn't necessarily going out of his way to talk more, but if they asked for his help he would give it. He stopped distancing himself from his classmates, though he remained quiet. When people in his class reach out to him, he backs them up as soon as he's able, abandoning whatever he happened to be doing at the time.
His friends are more important than his school work. There is a loyalty and kindness there that wasn't present near the beginning of the series. When somebody starts to lose their way, he can recognize it and try to steer them back onto their path. Once he cares about somebody, he looks out for them as much as he's able. Any kindness he is given, he does his best to return.
While Shouto often looks bored when he's with his classmates, his inner thoughts are usually that he's tired. If a friend asks him to do something, even something as silly as a room competition, he'll go along with it.
He's blunt and forward, if somebody presses on his few buttons he's more than willing to yell his disagreement. It doesn't matter who they are, Shouto will yell at them, be it the chief of police or somebody else. Shouto also has a tendency to consider things his fault, even when they're most likely a string of coincidences.
Shouto generally comes across as even keel. He speaks up when he has something to say but is generally one of the quieter students in the class. Though he does still tease one of his classmates when he's acting particularly childish. His sense of humor is very dry and occasionally hard to catch.
He does get riled up when somebody suggests that he should have left somebody in danger alone because it was technically illegal to intervene, due to their lack of licenses. In a situation like this, he's going to yell at whoever says that, no matter if it's the police chief. He takes hero-work very seriously and a person's safety trumps bureaucracy. If he has a chance to help somebody in danger he will, whatever the consequences.
While he does hang out with his classmates when the ask him to, he's not very chatty. Still, he does go out of his way to spend time with them when asked, even when he'd rather be asleep. For somebody who kept himself so distant from the group for so long, he's fairly quick to warm up to his classmates, doing favors for them if they ask him. This is especially true if he thinks somebody is losing their way the same way he did.
Shouto is very observant when it comes to oddities in people he knows well. A text with nothing but coordinates means the sender is in some sort of trouble, and Shouto will drop everything to come to their aid. At the same time though, he can be oblivious to obvious things. When a classmate adopts a fighting style that looks like another classmate's Shouto doesn't notice until somebody else points it out.
He isn't very sensitive to others. He makes a plan and then doesn't ask for any input from the person he's working with. But when he's called out on doing this, he does realize it. While Shouto isn't aware of all his flaws, when they're pointed out to him he acknowledges them and does his best to try and correct them.
For being the son of one of the strongest heroes, he doesn't have much of an ego. He knows when people are stronger than him or better than him at something. If he thinks he is stronger, he's not afraid to say that either.
If somebody compares him to his father after he's made all the effort of distancing himself, he gets uncomfortable and starts to dwell on it. This affects his performance and judgment for the worse. He isn't thinking straight and becomes overly stubborn, potentially endangering others. People he values highly can knock him out of this state, and he's grateful to them.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Half-Cold Half-Hot: Shouto's Quirk (superpower) is his right side can create and control ice, while his left side can create and control fire. He also seems to be able to regulate his temperature with his quirk.
Intelligence: Shouto is in the top five of his class when it comes to academics. He mentions that he just does his work regularly and doesn't particularly struggle in any classes.
Interior decorating: Shouto has transformed a very western looking room into a traditional Japanese one with tatami mats within a day. His explanation was he worked very hard.
Strength: Between his Quirk and his intelligence he's considered the strongest person in his class. He's physically quite strong as well, though notably, he doesn't rely on it nearly as much as his Half-Cold Half-Hot.

AU NAME: Shouto Todoroki
AU AGE: 16
PHYSICAL DIFFERENCES: His hair is completely red. He also doesn't have the scar on the left side of his face.
AU HISTORY:
-Born in the city to a Japanese mother and an Irish father.
-His mother is a stay at home mom and his father is an actor.
-He is the youngest of four. He has two brothers and a sister.
-His father kept him away from his siblings because Shouto received all of his lessons (how to model, how to walk a runway, what kind of face he should make, etc.), his siblings were allowed to do whatever they wanted.
-His mother was not happy about the way his father treated Shouto, and tried to stand up to him. However, her pleas and worries were often ignored by his father.
-Shouto did not enjoy this, and once he got older, around 12, would start leaving the house to avoid his father and all the related pageantry.
-She started to help him sneak out back then, reasoning that this was about the age he could take care of himself for a little while, hoping that he'd find some peace outside of the home.
-Shouto grew up watching superhero movies and cartoons with his mother, thus starting his lifelong adoration of the genre.
-When he was fairly young his father started taking him to beauty pageants.
-His father was very involved, strict and controlling making sure Shouto earned every title.
-He was also enrolled in acting, dance, piano and singing lessons. He diligently attends his music, dance, and acting lessons.
-He's much closer to his mother.
-Currently, he is 16 years old, in the 11th grade and attending Recolle High School.
-He lives with his family in Viea Village, in a large house.
-Rarely goes out of his way to make friends.
-Part time actor.
-His favorite subject is theatre because he'd like to play a hero in the movies he loved so much as a kid.
AU PERSONALITY:
This Shouto isn't too far off from his canon version. He's still cold, aloof and distant at first glance. It doesn't help that he doesn't go out of his way to make friends. He's not quite as cold as he seems if somebody strikes up a conversation with him, he's willing to talk to them.
His mother never mentally snapped from the strain and stress of watching his father overwork him the same way as canon. She still worried about him. She realized how much he didn't like being treated like a show animal and helped him sneak out. Shouto loves her wholeheartedly and listens to everything she has to say.
He's driven by a few things when it comes to acting. A large part of it is wanting to play a hero in a movie, and the other is wanting to surpass his father. If he overtakes his father in popularity and monetary gain, then he'll have enough to move out with his mother. For now, he does what he can to make sure she feels appreciated.
He finds acting and pageantry to be two very different things. Acting actually tests his skills as an actor, while the beauty pageants just seemed overly concerned with his looks. Of the two, he vastly prefers acting and being able to prove himself using something he's actually worked on instead of just his looks. Even if he does realize his looks are part of why he gets hired it's not the only reason and he's grateful for that.
Because his lessons are more about acting and music instead of hero work and quirk development, that's where his skills lie. He's a good student in his other subjects, but he knows what he wants to do with himself.
