Well, no, you don't have to. You've already said it pretty much. Maybe a better question would be. . . Is there anything that would help you feel better?
not by much, but still by a solid 15 minutes. it's late enough that yukine makes sure that he sends a text shouto's way to make sure that he doesn't get the wrong idea. namely, that yukine might have stood him up or something.
when he does finally show up, he shows up in a straw hat, trunks, a button down, and a bag that is suspiciously full. thankfully, shouto is exactly where he said he'd be and yukine greets him by gently bumping a shoulder against him. )
( he adjusts the bag on his shoulder as if to clue shouto in, but he also displays the bandages that are wrapped along his arm where he'd gotten his ass kicked by a slime not too long after leaving shouto and his panther robot. there are smaller injuries and bruises littered across his body, from getting thrown across rubble, but the cuts and scrapes already begun to scab over.
reaching into his bag, he pulls out another straw hat and places it on shouto's head. )
[There's a brief stab of guilt. He should've followed Yukine instead of breaking off onto two different missions. He would've done a much better job of protecting Yukine from the smaller injuries if he stayed in the panther.
But what's done is done, he can't change the past.
He reaches up and adjust the hat a bit.]
Oh.
... Thank you. How do I look?
[Shouto, what kind of question is that? You're an actor. You're model status.]

[He is not alright.]
I got ice powers while I was away.
And clothes that don't burn.
So that's nice.

he knows the weight of what he said about his mom forgetting him. )

I woke up with it while we were in the doctor's office.
My foot was stuck to the floor because of the ice.

He was mad when he used it, but it didn't feel nearly as bad as the fire.

Let's get ice-cream.

( it comes out immediately, but yukine thinks a little further on the idea. )
Wanna go to the beach? We can sit on the boardwalk and eat it.
no subject
[The ocean is back, if still gray. He'll gladly take that and Yukine's company over a mother that somehow forgot him.]
Right now?
no subject
( normally he'd come get shouto, but he's got something to do first. )
no subject
[He'll be at the beach in about thirty minutes.]

He's there in his swim trunks and an unbuttoned grey t-shirt. There's definitely a picture of Captain Might on it.]
Did you get lost?
[He's teasing, but it's hard to tell.]

I've never seen worse, in fact.
