[It's probably an odd sight, coming into the room and seeing Izuku packing things like an extra blanket and a few other things into his backpack. He's just trying to slide his laptop in when Izuku looks up and notices him standing there.]
Hey. [The greeting is quiet and subdued, and there's no hint of a smile on his face either.] I'm... going to be staying with sensei for a little while.
That's what I think, too. [It's not ideal, of course. It feels weird when he and Shouto are separated, but in this case, Izuku knows that he wouldn't feel comfortable leaving Guren to deal with this alone.
Izuku turns and leans into Shouto side, letting himself have that much.]
Sensei is...prickly when he's sad. [He says quietly.] He'll probably try to send people away if they start fussing, but thankfully I'm a lot more stubborn than he is.
That's what I'm counting on. [Izuku relaxes against him with a soft sigh.]
He took it hard when he and Dextera-san weren't talking...now that....[He pauses, swallowing hard when the words catch in his throat.] D-Dextera-san and the others are gone, I don't know how bad this is going to be.
I...don't know. Sensei mentioned bodies in his post... [His voice cracks a little then, and that seems to start the trickle of tears.]
Strider-kun and I... we talked about what happened when our shadows got us. We thought that..maybe the shadows had just taken some of our color and kept us somewhere for a few days. I-if sensei saw them die, then I don't know if they're coming back.
I hope so. [It would go a long way toward helping everyone cheer up again, that's for sure.]
We'd...never think about this back home. [Death is death, after all. There's no second chances with that.] But things here might be different enough...
Maybe. [Izuku nods, hair brushing against Shouto's cheek as he does.]
Will you be okay while I'm gone...? [He trails off, feeling a silly now that the question has been asked. Now he's making it sound like Shouto needs him here, while it's actually the other way around.]
6/25; after guren's post
Hey. [The greeting is quiet and subdued, and there's no hint of a smile on his face either.] I'm... going to be staying with sensei for a little while.

It's probably best if he wasn't alone.
[He doesn't want to be alone either but... it doesn't matter as much, he thinks.]

You're more stubborn than anybody else I know. If you want to fuss, I'm sure he can't stop you.

...Yeah. Do you think it's like the shadows? Where... they'll come back?

There's... No harm in hoping, I think. I really hope they'll come back. Even if we're not certain of it.

[God, he hopes he's right and he's not stoking up Izuku's hopes to make them burn worse.]

[And maybe saying that is cruel of him, but he's never been anything but honest with Izuku.]
no subject
He just stays right where he is, tucked up against Shouto.]
I'll come back everyday to see you. Um, we could eat lunch together?
no subject
... I'd like that. Come back home.
no subject
And...I'll come back here once I think sensei will be okay on his own. I promise.
no subject
[Waiting for Izuku to come back like the needy cat he secretly is.]
I look forward to our lunches.

I'll have my laptop with me while I'm there. You'll let me know if anything comes up?
[Because he'll obviously come running if there is.]
no subject
[It's fine though, Shouto's the one that gets into far less trouble.]
no subject
Can't hurt to check. [He lingers here for a second, then finally shuffles back to his bag.]
I should go... I'll see you tomorrow, Shouto.
